Turner Thompson is an insurance industry veteran. He has achieved Top of the Table and Court of the Table, is a life member of Million Dollar Round Table, and a 50+ year member of NAIFA. Turner’s career started with Metropolitan Life where he first began speaking around the country to agencies about prospecting and client acquisition before transitioning into the role of general agent for General American Life. During this tenure, Turner led one of the leading agencies in Michigan for GAL.
In 1985, while still with GAL, Turner partnered with Kenneth Grace to launch Financial Architects, Inc. Seventeen years later, they joined with and built one of the leading agencies for Ohio National. This winning collaboration continued for the next 20+ years. While with ONL, Turner was awarded with many accolades including the Tschantz Lifetime Achievement Award and the Paul E. Martin Community Service Award.
The Paul E. Martin Community Service Award was confirmation of Turner’s passion for coaching, mentoring, motivating, and inspiring everyone he meets including other agents to “pay it forward.” Turner has served on various boards with the Boys and Girls Club of SE Michigan, Historic Second Baptist Church of Detroit, Downtown Detroit Outreach and Total Health Care. From this service, Turner received the coveted Spirit of Detroit Award presented by the Detroit City Council for outstanding achievement and service to the community.
Turner and his wife, Marsha now live in Florida where he leads an active lifestyle and continues to mentor and coach people from all walks of life. When he’s not involved in mentoring, Turner and Marsha enjoy playing golf, traveling, and meeting new people. Turner remains committed to giving back to as many people as he can through mentorship, and philanthropy.
